Managed Patching (Patch Management)
Keeping your systems up-to-date and secure
Primus patch management service ensures that your operating system and applications are patched with the latest updates and security definitions. This provides you with the peace of mind that your server is free from potential exploits and bugs that could compromise the stability of your systems and hosted applications.
Features & Benefits of Managed Patching
- Primus will keep your servers up-to-date with the latest vendor-supplied patches/hotfixes/service packs for the operating system, so that your IT staff can focus on the specific needs of your business.
- Primus will apply patches for the operating system, and any applications shipped as part of the operating system, within 30 days.†
- All security-related patches will usually be applied within one week of their release. (Depending on severity and impact, the patch may be applied within 4 hours.)
- Primus will provide you with a minimum of 3 days advance notice on what patches will be applied and the maintenance window during which they will be applied.
†Note: Primus reserves the right to apply patches which resolve service impacting issues or security problems with no advance notice. Primus is not responsible for any 'corruption' or 'damage' caused by a patch. Some or all patches may require a server reboot, therefore Primus technicians may reboot the computer to complete the application of a patch at a mutually agreeable time, or immediately in the event of a security or service impacting issue. This package does not include applying patches to applications or tools which are not normally shipped as part of the base operating system package. If the application of a patch or hotfix results in operating system or application instability, any time spent by Primus technicians to investigate the problem or reverse a patch would be outside of this package and would come from the 'MSA-1010' package which you must purchase with this service.
